Ward Alsafi graduated with a BSc in Urban Planning, Design & Management from the Bartlett School of Planning at University College London.
After graduating, Ward joined JMP as a Transport Planner, working for 2 years on a variety of project types including Development Management, Traffic Engineering, Traffic Modelling, Transport Policy and GIS Spatial Analysis. Key projects include developing Transport Interchange Design guidelines for the Iraq government, analysing proposals for a new rail link for the London Borough of Hounslow and designing Traffic Calming features for Abu Dhabi Municipality.
Ward joined Space Syntax in 2015 as a Project Consultant. His main work at Space Syntax has involved developing integrated spatial modelling systems which can comprehensively analyse and model streets, land-use, transport and their interaction. This has included collaboration with the City of London in developing a comprehensive pedestrian modelling framework, as well as work with the Future Cities Catapult in designing software to link urban models and data dynamically.
