Internship
Space Syntax Ltd offers a limited number of unpaid internships to students who need to complete such a placement as part of their university course or degree. Students will follow a programme of fundamental research and practical application in spatial analysis.
The programme offers a unique opportunity to experience our evidence-based approach and to work on a wide range of projects including masterplanning, urban design and complex buildings. Interns join our project teams and are guided by a senior member of staff and mentored by one of our consultants and will need to be motivated and able to work alone. Together with their manager, they will agree a plan of work at the outset and will be expected to report on their progress on a regular basis, culminating in a presentation to colleagues at the end of the internship.
We encourage students to investigate schemes such as the European Commission’s Leonardo da Vinci scheme: http://www.leonardo.org.uk which can offer funding for work placements abroad.
Applications are welcome throughout the year. Please send your CV including samples of your work / study, cover letter and a statement addressing the following questions
1. Computer skills proficiency e.g. CAD, GIS, PowerPoint
2. Your particular academic, industry, or research interests
3. Why you have chosen to apply to Space Syntax
to internship@spacesyntax.com. We will also require documentation from your place of study to confirm your student status and the training requirements of your course.
