Kaveh is an architect registered in Iran. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran. His main interest lies in developing analytical methods to support and inform the design practice. This involves an extensive use of GIS methods of analysing socio-economic and environmental data as well as spatial accessibility analysis.
Since joining Space Syntax Limited, Kaveh has been involved in city-wide scale projects in Jeddah such as the Spatial Planning Framework, Jeddah Central Unplanned Areas Improvement Plan, Masterplan Review for Jeddah Old Airport and more recently, The Second Phase of Unplanned Areas Improvement Plan. He has also worked on various projects in the UK mostly focusing on the effect of urban layout design scenarios on the pedestrian environment.
In 2004 Kaveh commenced his MPhil/PhD at the Bartlett, UCL on the spatial morphology of informal settlements. His research uses a combination of different methodologies, including space syntax and multi-agent simulation. Kaveh has also worked as a teaching assistant at UCL in 2005, and has successfully trained and mentored Space Syntax interns as part of our internship programme.
